  • IEEE Transactions on Computers (TC)
  • IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing (TCC)
  • IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing (TETC)
  • IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing (TMC)
  • IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS)
  • IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE)
  • IEEE CS journals also continue to rise in citation prominence. For example, the IEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society (OJCS) had the largest jump in impact factor, increasing 2.5 points year over year and achieving its highest impact factor to date. IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG) grew 1.8 points since last year, and IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing (TMC) rose 1.5 points this year.

“Not only do our journals already lead in many fields, but they also continue to expand their impact,” said Washizaki. “This growth is a testament to our commitment to excellence and the hard work of this community. We thank our editors, reviewers, and authors for their dedication and support.”

In addition to peer-reviewed journals, JIF rankings also assess technical magazines. The IEEE CS magazines with the highest impact factor rankings include:

    • IEEE Intelligent Systems
    • IEEE Internet Computing
    • IEEE MultiMedia
    • IEEE Software
    • IEEE Security and Privacy

Annually, Clarivate releases its Journal Citation Reports™ (JCR™), which deliver JIF rankings. These reports evaluate 22,249 high-quality academic journals from 111 countries spanning 254 scientific and research disciplines. The JIF measures the frequency with which the average article in a publication has been cited in a particular year. The calculation is based on a two-year period and involves dividing the number of times articles were cited by the number of articles that are citable.[1] It offers a key metric to assess the overall strength and industry influence of a particular publication.
